UGC that is Union Grant Commission has finally decided to bring some changes in the Syllabus of UGC NET 2018 after a decade. UGC NET is the national level examination conducted for the recruitment of faculty for all the renowned colleges and universities. It has been a decade since the UGC has made any changes to the exam syllabus.
Although there has been no change in the UGC NET syllabus from past 10 years still, the universities have upgraded their subject curriculum according to the latest norms. UGC has finally decided to catch up to the changes that should be implemented taking in consent the updates curriculum of the Universities. According to the latest updates, UGC is planning to bring changes in the syllabus of every subject for UGC NET 2018.
All the aspirants who are looking forward to sitting in UGC NET 2018 exam must check out the new syllabus that is going to be revealed by the Union Grant Commission soon.
The proposal has been kept on the table for the change of syllabus in the UGC NET 2018, still, the approval is pending. According to the reliable sources, it has come forth that the commission has appointed 25 committees to renew the syllabus for the exam and even more are on their way. There are in total 90 subjects included in the UGC NET syllabus for which different committees are to be formed. There has been no information on when the changes are going to be made. The update also says that the UGC NET exam will now be conducted only once a year.
Till date, UGC has been conducting UGC NET twice every year but as per the latest changes, the UGC will conduct the exam only once a year. On asking, UGC stated that this discussion has been carried out because of the lower number of candidates appearing for UGC NET every year. According to the authorities, 6.5 Lakh candidates register for the exam every year, out of which only 1.5 Lakh appear for the exam.
